> The Home screen: your account figures, cumulative P/L, items that need a decision, new screen candidates and a briefing of what changed.

Source: https://investi.live/docs/app/home

Home is the first screen after you sign in. It answers three questions in one place: where your account stands, what needs a decision, and what changed since you last looked. Every figure is computed on the server from your imported records and delayed Nasdaq quotes.

Open it from the top nav, the Investi logo, or by pressing `g` then `h`.

## Before you have data

If you have not imported anything yet, Home shows an onboarding view instead of the dashboard.

- **Start with your real history** lists three steps: export from Schwab (Accounts > History > Export, CSV or JSON), import it here, and optionally connect Claude. Two buttons follow: **Import Schwab history** (goes to `/settings#data`) and **Run the 52-week-low screen** (goes to `/discover?run=1`, which starts a scan as soon as Discover opens).
- **Just exploring?** has a **Load sample account** button. It calls `POST /api/v1/sample` and refreshes the page. If price history cannot be fetched you see "Could not load sample data. Price history may be unavailable right now."

Once sample data is loaded, a "Sample data" banner appears across the top of every screen with a **Remove sample** link to `/settings#data`. See [/docs/getting-started/sample-data](/docs/getting-started/sample-data) and [/docs/getting-started/import-history](/docs/getting-started/import-history).

## Index strip

A thin strip at the top shows up to five indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow, Russell 2000, Nasdaq-100) with last value and day change. The whole strip links to [Markets](/docs/app/markets). If the feed is down it reads "Index quotes unavailable right now". Index values are delayed.

## Greeting and account figures

The heading greets you by first name, using morning, afternoon or evening in New York time. The line under it counts open positions, working orders (status `WORKING` or `PARTIALLY_FILLED`) and the date your history starts.

Under it are the same five large figures as the top of [Portfolio](/docs/app/portfolio#header-figures), each with an (i) and a small trend arrow, and each label links to the screen that explains it:

| Figure | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| Equity | Cash minus margin debit plus positions at the last quote ("Unknown" until a broker balance exists), with today's price move under it. |
| Cash | Broker-reported cash, with the change since the last balance before today. |
| Day P/L | Shares times today's price change, green up or red down. |
| Realized today | Lots closed today (New York date), matched with your reporting lot method. Links to Sold today. |
| Unrealized | Open positions against cost basis. |

Net economic P/L is in the breakdown under the chart; margin debit and the rest are in Portfolio's **More** row. See [/docs/concepts/canonical-numbers](/docs/concepts/canonical-numbers) for exact definitions.

## Cumulative P/L

A chart of your cumulative P/L over time, marked to daily closes and including dividends and margin interest. Only fills with known cost basis are included. The headline number is the latest value "since" the first priced date.

If your settings have a benchmark (SPY by default), a second line shows "Same dollars in SPY": every buy and sell you made is mirrored into the benchmark at that day's close, and the difference is shown. The panel's (i) says what is included. Tickers with no price history are counted under the chart (hover the (i) for the list) and left out of the curve. With nothing to price you see "Not enough priced history yet".

## Today

With no fills it is one line: "No fills" and the day's move on your positions. On a day with fills, the Today panel has two halves:

- **Fills**: a sortable, filterable table of the day's fills (Symbol, Time, Side, Shares, Price), newest first, with the buy and sell counts.
- **Sold today**: a compact summary with **Open** linking to the full Sold today page at `/sold`: how many symbols were sold (and how many are now flat), proceeds, realized P/L, and what was left on the table against the close. It reads from the same function as `GET /api/v1/sold`: fills from Schwab transactions and imports, probe sales left out (named in the (i)).

## What needs attention

Up to 14 lines, each one icon, symbol, verb and number, with an (i) that holds the full explanation:

| Line | Number | Why it is there |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **New candidates** | How many | New candidates (near low, big drop, Strict 1 and uploads) first seen since you last opened Discover, or in your "new" window before your first visit. It comes first and opens Discover. See [Candidate sources](/docs/concepts/candidate-sources). |
| **At target** | Return on cost | A position's unrealized return has reached its exit target; the (i) gives the target percentage and price. |
| **No new money** | Return on cost | A position is at or below the no-new-money line versus cost set in your strategy rules. |
| **Buy near fill** / **Sell near fill** | Shares @ limit | A working limit order is within 2% of the last price. |
| **Order unconfirmed** | How long ago | The broker last confirmed the order more than three days ago. Verify it at Schwab. |
| **History gap** | Broker vs fills shares | The broker reports a different share count than your imported fills imply. |
| **Earnings** | Date and days | A held name (first 12 holdings) has a company-confirmed report within the earnings window set in your strategy rules. Estimated dates are not listed; see [how earnings dates are checked](/docs/app/calendar#how-earnings-dates-are-checked). |
| **Verdict** | Old verdict, arrow, new verdict chip | A verdict on one of your names changed in the last seven days; the (i) holds the full change sentence. |

Probe lots (1 share or fewer by default, see [Probe lots](/docs/strategy/rules#probe-lots)) never raise a line; a full-size order on a probe-held name still can.

With nothing to show it reads "Nothing needs a decision." See [/docs/strategy/rules](/docs/strategy/rules).

## Market regime

A strip between the attention list and the positions table shows the market regime: GREEN, YELLOW, RED or Unknown, with the matching action in a few words (normal size, half-size buys, or no full-size buys) and an (i) explaining the two signals: the IWM index trend and how your recent buys are trading against their fill prices. A row of ten small bars shows the regime over the last 10 sessions; hover a bar for the date and state. If index history cannot be fetched it reads "Index history unavailable." See [/docs/strategy/rules](/docs/strategy/rules) for how the regime is computed.

## Largest positions

The eight largest open positions in a sortable, filterable table: Last, Day, Value and Unrealized, updated in place from the delayed quote stream (Realized life and Trips are under **Columns**). **All** opens [Portfolio](/docs/app/portfolio).

## New opportunities

Up to seven names from the last 52-week-low scan that sit close to their low, excluding names blocked by your hard rules. Names that need analysis (state New or Changed) sort first, then the closest to the low. A sortable, filterable table shows the candidate state, the verdict chip (hover it for the reason), a 30-day sparkline and the distance above the low as a bar.

If you have never scanned, the panel says "No screen run yet" and offers **Run first screen** (`/discover?run=1`). **Discover** goes to [Discover](/docs/app/discover). See [/docs/concepts/candidate-states](/docs/concepts/candidate-states).

> **Note:** This panel uses its own fixed distance from the low (within 10%), separate from the ATR-scaled entry gate in your rules. Discover lets you change the distance.

## Briefing

A table of what changed (Symbol, What changed, When, Source), newest first, sortable and filterable, combining:

- Material SEC filings in the last seven days for your first ten holdings, linked to the filing on SEC EDGAR.
- Verdict changes from your rules in the last three days.
- Alerts that fired in the last three days.

Open a row for the full text. With nothing new it reads "No filings, verdict changes or alerts this week."

## Shell features available everywhere

- `Cmd+K` or `Ctrl+K` opens search for tickers and commands.
- `Cmd+F` or `Ctrl+F` finds text on the current page. Enter jumps to the next match and Shift+Enter to the previous. It works on every screen, including the public site.
- `?` opens the keyboard shortcut reference.
- The bell icon links to `/notebook#alerts` and shows an unread count.
- The footer (desktop) shows "Delayed 15m", the quote feed status, the market session, and links to Downloads and Data sources (`/settings#status`).
